Privacy policy

Shaker & Sphere is published by Slate Mill Group. This policy explains what happens to information when you read the site. It is deliberately short, because the site itself is simple: there are no accounts, no login, and no newsletter list.

What we collect directly

Only what you type into the contact form. If you send us a message, we receive the name, email address and message you entered, and we use them for one purpose: replying to you. We do not add that address to any mailing list, and we do not share it.

The form also records the moment the page loaded and your IP address, purely to stop automated spam. Neither is used to build a profile, and neither is retained beyond what the anti-spam check needs.

What we do not collect

• No user accounts, passwords or profiles — there is nothing to sign up for.
• No newsletter or marketing list.
• No payment information. Nothing is ever sold on this site.
• No data is sold, rented or traded to anyone, for any purpose.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages get read and which links get clicked. It records things like the page you viewed, roughly where in the world you are, your device type and how you arrived. It does not tell us who you are.

One custom event is recorded: when a buy button is clicked, we log which product and which page it happened on. That is how we tell which recommendations are useful.

Google’s own handling of this data is covered by Google’s privacy policy. You can opt out entirely with Google’s browser opt-out add-on, and the site works exactly the same with analytics blocked.

Affiliate links

Buy buttons pass through a redirect on this domain and then on to the retailer, with an identifying tag attached so the retailer knows the visit came from here. The tag identifies this website, not you.

Once you arrive at the retailer, that retailer’s privacy policy and cookies apply, not ours. Amazon’s is at amazon.com. The full commercial arrangement is described in our affiliate disclosure.

Cookies

Shaker & Sphere sets no cookies of its own. The cookies present are those set by Google Analytics, and those set by a retailer after you follow a link away from here. Blocking cookies in your browser does not break anything on this site.

Children

This site covers alcohol-related equipment and is intended for adults of legal drinking age. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Your choices

• Block analytics with a browser setting, an extension, or Google’s opt-out add-on above.
• Don’t use the contact form. Everything on this site is readable without submitting anything.
• Ask us to delete your message. Email info@shakerandsphere.com and we will remove the correspondence.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the effective date at the top changes with it. We will not quietly broaden what we collect.
